Senior Clerk (1.0)
Office of Special Education- Central Office
(220 work days-prorated based on start date)
7.5-hour workday
Purpose:
To provide a wide variety of complex and confidential clerical and operational support to the Senior Director and Assistant Director of Special Education to ensure compliance with IDEA, MA regulations, and district policies.
Responsibilities:
- Composes and maintains documents, files, and records for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance.
- Initiates and completes fiscal procedures per state, municipal, and district guidelines to ensure provision of student services.
- Monitors the special education operating and grant budgets.
- Maintains the daily/weekly/monthly calendar of the Director/Asst. Director.
- Initiates, monitors, and adjusts processes and procedures to streamline and increase efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
- Develops and sustains a timely response system for all verbal and written correspondence and related follow-up tasks.
- Works in resourceful manner in dealing with staff, parent, and community concerns and problem-solving situations.
- Assists in maintaining student files.
Qualifications
- Successful secretarial/clerical experience within a public or private organization's management office or equivalent experience.
- Experience with software applications (i.e. Microsoft Office, Google Drive, MUNIS, ASPEN etc).
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to take initiative and work collaboratively with others within an educational office environment.
- Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others.
- Knowledge of federal laws and state regulations.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Spanish speaking preferred.
Salary Range: $224.18 - $267.75 per day - Senior Clerk
