Long-Term Substitute - School Adjustment Counselor

Studley Elementary School

Estimated start date - early April 2026

 

Salary - Massachusetts Certified - Per Diem Rate $230.00 per day

 

Purpose: To develop and deliver social, emotional and behavioral supports and strategies in order to help students institute positive changes and help them to achieve their fullest potential.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1. Build and support rapport among staff, families and students

2. Effectively apply clinical skills within an educational setting

3. Provide school-based individual and small group counseling support to students with social, emotional and behavioral needs

4. Provide conflict resolution support to staff, families and students

5. Serve as a member of the school based Critical Incident Team

6. Serve as a member of the Student Support and Special Education Team

7. Collaborate with staff to develop IEPs, Section 504 Accommodation Plans, Functional Behavior Assessments, Behavioral Intervention Plans, and Building/Safety Plans

8. Provide consultation services to staff, families and students regarding social, emotional and behavioral concerns

9. Provide consultation support regarding the accessibility of community-based medical and mental health services

10. Maintain communication with community-based medical and mental health service providers

11. Assist with the facilitation of student safety assessments

12. Support student transition from mental health facilities/hospitals to school

13. Support student transition across grade and academic levels

14. Support school-wide initiatives and District Accommodation Plan

15. Perform other responsibilities as deemed appropriate and assigned by a supervisor and/or designee

 

SKILLS:

 

1. Experience with CPI or Safety Care.

2. Experience with students with trauma, anxiety, and/or oppositional disorders.

3. Licensed as a Social Worker or LMHC in MA preferred.
